James Madison Harris

                                                                   In Memoriam
Of James Madison Harris, who departed this life April 24th, 1890. He was the second son of sister S.A. McMickle of Kensett, Ark. His death was very sudden and sad. He was killed at Marianna, Ark., having been crushed while acting as brakeman on a work train. His remains were conveyed to Kensett and interred in the Barrett Cemetery. He was born in Ozark county. Mo., Feb. 4th, 1854, and at the time of his death, he was 36years, 2 months and twenty days old. He professed faith in Christ, and united with the Baptist church at Macedonia, Aug. 1872, he maintained his faith until death.
He was a dutiful son, a faithful husband, and a devoted father. In his death he leaves a wife and two children, a devoted mother, and one brother and sister, a host of sorrowing friends to mourn his loss. "Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth; Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works do follow them."
